La Peskerezh was the poissonnerie, the fish shop,of the village of Plozévet, and was built in 1920 by the Stephan family. The shop and associated rooms for preparing and storing the fresh seafood from the bay of Audierne were in use for almost a century, passing from father to son over three generations.

In October 2021 we came across this wonderful 200m2 building, for sale following the retirement of Monsieur Stephan the younger. It took quite some imagination to visualise the possibilities and design a comfortable and modern house, but as we love the area and spend most of our time at sea, the transformation of La Peskerezh became a wonderful project.
What is today the kitchen and dining area used to be the shop floor, with openings out onto the road behind (la rue du 11 Novembre) which we found bricked over since the shop had moved next door.

The laundry, downstairs bathroom and kitchen were all part of the preparation area, where we found shells everywhere, as well as massive cold stores insulated with cork.

Today, La Peskerezh is a light, modern and comfortable home of 160m2 in the heart of the village of Plozévet. It has a small garden, hidden from the view of the street, with a wooden deck and a small swimming pool (3.5m diameter and 1.35m deep).
Being centrally located means the village shops are only a couple of minutes’ walk away, while the beaches are around 15 minutes (or three minutes by car).
La Peskerezh sleeps 12, with many convenient free parking spots nearby.
